Hey friend,
The other night I was sitting on my couch when all of a sudden I had this need for chocolate. I went to the section of my cupboard where I normally keep a block of dark chocolate. I'll be honest, I'm not a massive sweet tooth. I'd much rather sit on the couch a snack on a bowl of potatoes than a mars bar. That night though I knew that chocolate was the only thing that would cure this craving and the 3 pieces left of my block just weren't going to cut it. I wanted something hot and a little gooey inside.
When it comes to food, I head to pinterest. It's a great resource and it provides my brain the visuals it needs. It's true what they say, 'we eat with our eyes'. If you want to check out my pinterest boards, you can find me under stepheatsfood.
One of the things that popped up was a microwavable single serve brownie. Ding ding ding, folks we have a winner, except that I don't have a microwave so I used my teeny tiny kmart oven instead.
Okay that's enough about me, let's talk about single serve chocolate brownie.
Chocolate Ideas
Last night all I could think about was how cread chopped up mars bar would be in this, so if you have any chocolate bars lying around please let me live vicariously through you and put it in your brownie.
What you'll need
2 tbls butter melted (oil or marg will work as well)
1-2 tbls sugar (your choice, whatever sugar you've got)
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 tsp milk
pinch salt
1 egg yolk
4 tbls plain flour (self raising will make it more cake like)
1 tbls cocao powder
chocolate chunks (go crazy)
What to do
You guys, this is a one pot kinda recipe so melt the butter in the dish you're going to cook everything in.
1. Mix wet ingredients together, butter, sugar, vanilla, salt and egg yolk.
2. Add in flour and cocao and mix
3. Add in chocolate chunks
4. Microwave for 45 seconds OR bake at 180*C for 10mins
5. Eat and enjoy. Would be great with ice cream if you have any!
That's probably the most simple recipe I've ever done.
As always, if you make this don't forget to tag me @grumbleandquench and if you have any questions you can reply to this email or DM me over on insta or Facey.
Happy Eating,
S
