This recipe is the first recipe in my Meal Planning series, you can find the series on my Instagram here under IGTV.
Okay so let's talk about balls. This recipe is similar to another ball recipe I posted which you can find here. This time I have added protein and instead of putting the cacao inside the ball, I have drizzled (read as poured in large quantities) over top.
I made these balls as part of my snack planning because there is nothing worse than getting to the afternoon, wanting to nap and instead snacking on empty carbs (nothing wrong with this just FYI) and not feeling full (that's what I'm trying to combat).
So these balls have protein and nuts and coconut and sugar and chocolate. They are delicious and I think you should make them.
Let's make balls.
What you'll need
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup desicated coconut (coconut flakes wont hold together as well but you could blitz them up to make it easier)
2 tbls protein powder (I used Red Tractor Hemp Protein, you could use chia seeds or any other protein powder you like)
3 tbls peanut butter (or any nut butter)
1 big tbls honey (replace with whatever sweetner you have, if you don't eat much sugar/sweet stuff then these will be very sweet for you just an FYI so use less or more depending on preferance)
1 tbls cacao
1 tbls coconut oil
1 tsp honey
What to do
1. Mix together oats, coconut and protein (you can blitz/pulse if you prefer but it's not necessary.
2. Add in peanut butter and honey and mix fully (I used my hands here).
3. Form into balls, put onto a tray and chill.
4. Melt coconut oil, add in cacao and honey and stir to combine.
5. Pour chocolate over your balls and put back into the fridge.
6. Once set (will take moments, this choc sauce is like magic sauce if you remember that stuff) put into a air tight container.
*The extra chocolate sauce in the pan can be re-melted (i just put it in the oven) and poured into a mug and used as a hot chocolate base. I highly reccomend this with coconut milk, it was delicious!
That my friends is as easy as it gets! I have been eating these all week as snacks and I love them. Make sure you're following me over on Instagram and keeping up to date with my meal planning series.
HAPPY EATING!
